To My Friends:

The shock of the new property value assessments is causing a furor in St. Tammany Parish.  Constituents have called complaining of assessment increases of over 160%!

Please take the time to go to the website of the Assessor at www.stassessor.org and look up your assessment. 

The rolls will only be open for your review until October 16, 2008.

You can download a form, fill it out and submit it to the Assessor protesting your assessment.  The form must be submitted prior to October 16, 2008.

An increase in property value at this time given the economic conditions which are prevailing is truly disheartening.  I urge you to take the time to add your voice to the rising protest against this injustice.
