My Friends.

There are a lot of rumors floating around about the current storm and of course there is much consternation as to what it's final path will be. I cannot help with the path and you will have to keep up to date with that information on your own.

I attended the 10:00am briefing in Covington this morning and I left feeling very proud that our great parish was in such capable hands. It is pleasure to work with all these people who are son dedicated and talented.

There are a few facts that are known and I would like to share them with you:

1. Contraflow will start tomorrow, Saturday, at 6:00pm.
2. The Governor was successful in moving the LSU football game from late afternoon on Saturday to 10:00 am on Saturday morning.
3. Everyone should fill there car with gas before contra flow starts because once it starts it will be almost impossible for service stations to bring in trucks to refuel.
4. Mandatory evacuations are already being called in the low lying Parishes of the state.
5. Parish President Davis will be considering evacuations in St.Tammany Parish, below I-12, on Sunday afternoon if conditions warrant such a declaration.
6. Parish President Burgess will be considering evacuations below La. 22 should conditions warrant such a declaration.

It is important that everyone stay tuned to radio and TV stations to find out the latest information.

God bless each of you and your loved ones.
